I will tell a tale of the one that went away, not got away.
I had a hive that was going to swarm (swarm cells on the bottom bar), so I decided that I would do a "Shook Swarm" onto some brand new equipment. A perfect way to make some Ross rounds or cut comb honey.
Frame by frame I meticulously shook all they bees off in front of the hive and watched them march back in. I even spied the queen and helped her find the entrance. Most of the bees were inside by the time I went home.
A few days later I went back to check their progress and to my surprise they were all gone! Oh how sad I was! Can you imagine 60,000 bees traveling in a swarm? I hope someone got this one and I wish his name was Kurt!
But alas my bees are gone, but they gratefully left me a super of honey as payment for the rent.
