Southeast trap out

Post by Kurt Bower »

Allright...
I have a request for a bee removal from a tree in southeast county.
Normally I would give this to Wally, but they winced when I told them the price.
Anyone interested in doing this one for the experience?

let me know, as it is close to where I live and I guess I could do it as a last resort.

If any one wants to do it, I'll advise and instruct, VIA phone, internet, or at my house.

Sure L&H I should be able to help.

I have only read and seen Wally's pictures on the forum about trap outs.

L&H why don't you give them a call and set a time to check it out without making a commitment. Please get an exact address, I can use the GPS to guide me. I would like to meet you there to check it out before we commit to anything. Maybe one day after you get off work.

If we think we can do it maybe we can weasel something out of this guy.

We may need a cone and a scaffold, I have a little giant ladder (15ft). I guess we to look first. Then tell them to hire Wally lol. :D

I have two sections of scaffolding if it is needed, which I doubt on a tree.
A platform, which I also have, will probably work better.

WOW, thanks Wally. I don't like falling out of trees or ladders.

L&H Your point man.

TJ, what are your normal free hours. Ski and myself are flexible, but L&H works days, so it will mostly be evenings and weekends.

Want to give us a little "low down" on what to expect with a trap out??? I have read about them and think we should be ok but I would like to hear the difference between myth and reality.

No thank you.
I am not into writing books and the forum doesn't have enough bandwidth.
I will talk about the different aspects when you come down.

I'm available evenings and weekends, my loving husband can take care of the kiddies! I am in Summefield northwest of Greensboro; if it is unreasonably far it may not make sense for me to go so far, there's bound to be another opportunity (I hope) to learn (although the sooner the better!). And it sounds like you both have it under control. Can you tell me what town she is in so I can map it? Do you both live in the southeast county area?

P.S. My children are in school and I am available in the morning and afternoon as well (for any other opportunities for learning  (thanks!)), as long as I'm back for 2:30pm.

Between L&H and my self it may be the blind leading the blind on trapouts lol (speaking for my self anyway).
Wally is our guide through the bee world.

I put Williams Dairy road into mapquest using Greensboro as the city and it showed a Williams dairy road around Forest oaks area running north and south of forest oaks. Don't know the address. It could be between 10 and 15 miles from me.

I am located in Whitsett just north of I40-85.

Hope it works out that you can make it.

Will be interesting to see what L&H finds out.

I called at 6 and got the answering machine. I left a message and so far have had no return call. I will try again tomorrow. By the way.... I took my first super of honey today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It almost seems like a dream. I didn't expect any this year. I should have another super in a week!!!! Let the good times roll. I hope we get to do this trap out. I would like the bees as well as experience. I will keep you posted. The lady is real close to my house. I will see if she will let me come over to get a look-see and I will take some pics and post them for all to see so we know what we are going into. Good night beeks.

Well if it's in Greensboro I'll be there. I thought southeast Guilford County might be really far out. Can't wait!

Just called again and got the answering machine again. Will try when I get home around 5 to 5:30. TJ, it is in Greensboro but at the edge of Gbo. It is about 5 to 10 minutes from Forset Oaks OR 15 to 20 minutes from 421 at the I-40 exit (Sanford exit). Hope you can make it. :D Ski... my wife is truly in love with the bees now. All she wants is the HONEY!!! Does that mean I have been replaced :?:
