Heat on drawn comb in honey suppers

Post by Ron Young »

How much heat will drawn comb take. I will be storing the honey suppers in the storage building and it gets quite hot in there on those 90+ degree days. Is that a problem???

Bees wax melts at approx. 135 degrees. It may well be a problem if there is no ventilation.

Thanks Wally,

I will put a thermometer in there and see what the temp gets up to. I have a roof vent and one side has openings in the roof line where I attached a shed roof for a dog kennel. I would be surprised if it gets that hot, but I will check.
