Trap Out

Is it too late to start a trap out and the bee's have a chance at making it? I do plan on feeding all winter if successful with the trap. I may be able to talk the caller into waiting till next spring.

If we have a winter like the last one, you can start it in Nov. It would be 10 times better to start it in the spring. A good freeze for several days in Dec. could wipe them out.

PS. If you do it successfully and have a laying queen, come and get a few frames of honey for them. I have some in the freezer.

I believe that you would be awfully close to being too late. By the time the bees were out (4 weeks) you would be so close to October that it would make it darned near impossible. If you had drawn comb with food reserves already inplace you might be able to make it.

Thanks for the information. I personally feel that it is on the down side of a successful trap and survive.
