Late Swarm

Well it looks like I threw a swarm yesterday.
It was easy enough to find and capture but was less than the size of a football.
The queen decided to hang out on the ground with a few hundred other bees since her left wing was worn and she apparently could not fly well.
I will keep an eye on them and perhaps hey will come to live in my house if they seem too weak to survive the winter.

I cant seem to find which hive they came from. All look good and are laying.

Probably an abscond from a neighboring tree.

Come on Wally! You know that I dont allow bees to live in my trees. I have a very orderly bee yard.

Checked her yesterday and she is laying. I will try and overwinter her in the nuc.

The one I trapped out is laying well and the frame of brood I baited with is still emerging. Anyone who wants it, just bring your empty nuc box and I'll give you the 5 frames and the bees.

Be careful about what the devil says. I have two more that will have to be fed all winter. I may just pawn them all off on you.
