Well, I have been keeping an eye on my observation hive these past weeks and without a doubt, things are picking up.
The queen is hard a work laying eggs and the workers are bringing in pollen like crazy.
If this weather continues to be nice and the maple's bloom on time, I expect some rapid build ups.
Spring fever anyone?
I have been having spring fever for a while. Picking up equipment from Reel's Bee Supply, open feeding, hive inspection also found small patch of brood.
The hives here are also bringing in pollen (sub) from the open feeder lol. Its still fun to watch them walk into the hive with pollen sub in their sacs.
Quick build ups you say...Hmmmm....swarms...swarms....swarms...
I have read and noticed that sugar syrup freezes at a lower temperature then water. Mine did not freeze when it was in the 20's.
But you could bring it inside at night so the bees will have a nice warm beverage to dink in the morning.
