slow bees

Post by drewgrim »

the other day when it was warm enough for the bees to fly i had some bees coming out of the one hive and then falling off the front porch. they were moving real slow and it was like they were in slow motion. is this a sign of starvation? or something else?

Probably just a few of the older bees leaving the hive to die. If they did not have deformed wings or k wings (varroa and tracheal mite signs) it sounds like normal attrition to me.

Agree with Jacobs, or it may have been they got too cold to get back to the cluster.
