Yippee! Passed the written portion! I got my notification today. Think it will make a difference to the bees I pick up tomorrow?

Next step work with the girls so I can pass the practical.

congratulations on passing! Most folks did fairly well from what I recall.

It can be done at the club's spring picnic, or at any of the state spring or summer meetings.

I don't think we will be doing the practical test at the field day. Last year Kurt arranged to do this at the Ag Center, either in August or early September after the new beekeepers have had a chance to get some experience with the equipment and the bees. I think the later date worked out well and I was planning something similar to that.

OK, then why don't we have a training session at the picnic, to help them prepare? We need to do something in a hive or two to call it a bee picnic.

I want to have bees at the outing and I think a "tour" through a hive or two for the new beekeepers would be a great idea. Do you know if anyone has hives close to Hagan Stone for easier transport? I'm not sure I will have one worth bringing although I am going to try and boost the strength of 4 weak hives and split the bee tree hive in the near future.

I have brought bees to the last 7 field days and plan on bowing out for a while.
I think a hive demonstration would be essential if possible.
