Sounds interesting for a novice beekeeper. I saw a picture a couple of weeks ago in the High Point Enterprise of one of the people there using honey drizzled on top of the hive rather than using smoke. Has anyone done this? Does it work as well as smoke?

It doesn't work as well as smoke and I'm not going to use valuable honey when i can burn free grass or pine needles.
