Swarm #1

Post by SmithN »

I agree with Locust&Honey it's swarm season.
Yesterday I noticed this cluster of bees in a pine tree behind my hives (4-4-11)
It came from one of my hives, one that was split 3 weeks ago!

I've been busy chasing bees this week!
I had a swarm Thurs, Sat, and today.
The swarm Sat and today came from hive #1 (I split hive #1 plus made a nuc from it 3 weeks ago!)

Glad I am not alone....I have had 6 swarms so far....in 2 weeks!!!! 3 Saturday and Sunday. I have 2 just hanging around in the tree right now because I don't have enough boxes!

Come over and borrow a couple of nucs. I have several with some drawn comb and some foundation. You are welcome to use them until you can get boxes ready.
