Sam Coble's Cutout--May 17, 2013

Post by Jacobs »

I helped Sam with this cutout from the floor of an old mobile home now used for storage.

This was a strong hive with little capped brood and little capped honey, but tons of nectar. Wally would not have given me an "A" for the effort, but I think I would have gotten a passing grade. Sam took the bees and I am in the process of "smelting" wax from lots of dark comb.

We had to continue the cutting to the left of the opening shown in the photograph.

If you got the bees out, you get an A. If not, you get an F. It's that simple. :P
