Pollen Bound Hive

Post by Jacobs »

This is a new one on me. I went through a hive with 6 medium supers and plenty of bees. There was no brood, eggs or larvae except for a frame I had put in to see if they would build queen cells. They didn't. I added another frame of eggs and larvae with nurse bees. There must be 30-35 frames of pollen or bee bread in the hive. I don't have any spare open, drawn frames to put in the hive to open up space. I may have to extract honey frames from my freezer to use in the hive. I'm going to wait 4 days to see if there is any queen making activity and go from there.
