Wally told me about a swarm in Sophia and I went to check it out. It was 35 feet in the air. Wally walked me through putting a bucket on the end of a bamboo pole and catch them that way. The pole worked great but it was HEAVY! It REALLY heavy when I got the bees. Took about 4 or 5 good knocks to get the bees in the bucket. I guess I got the queen because within 10 minutes, the swarm was surrounding the bucket.
Dumped them in my 5 frame nuc and it half way filled the box! Could not put the frames in the box. I switched them to an 8 frame box and it was still real tight.

Way to go. I hope it was the bucket from "bucket night" at the GCBA meeting last night.

Brandon came over to my 'apiary' today. He took a look at the swarm and found the queen. Pretty lady!
