3 Swarm Day-3/31/20

Post by Jacobs »

Two smaller swarms in the Lindley Park area and a little larger one in the Arboretum (not from my hives). All came out yesterday or before. All reflected the cool, damp weather in attitude. This was not a fun day.

I hope you didn't happen to find a 'green' marked queen, did you?

I'm going to let them settle in for a few days before I look in on them. I'll let you know if any of these queens are marked.

So, how are the new swarm hives? I hived a huge swarm on Monday morning. Everything went perfectly but they took off before I got back to move them around 6:00. We sure hated to lose all those bees in our apiary at Elam Gardens.

I'm letting them settle in awhile longer before I do serious looking, but I did not see a marked queen in the bunch.
