Chasing sourwood

Post by reedyfork »

I have an opportunity next year to keep several hives (or move several hives) up to a couple different places in the mountains - Wilkes and Watauga Co. I'd love to hear from any folks around here that have moved hives seasonally to try and capture the sourwood flow. Just trying to figure out the timing and logistics of doing something like that, and how to manage supers, bears, etc.

You may want to give Keith at Beez Needz a call. I know he has been getting sourwood for a few years, and he can probably give you information about timing and other logistics.
