heat wave

Post by dhamiltn »

Looks like the small chance of rain tonight has dissipated. Is there any forage available during this kind of weather?

There must be something out there, but not much. I went through 3 of my hives today locating and marking new queens. I did not experience any robbing or probing when the hives were open, but the bees were a little more defensive than they were 2 weeks ago.

Bring some of that forage down here. I put a half gallon of sugar water out at 2:00 PM and it was empty by 7:00 PM. That tells me they have nothing in the field.
