New beekeeper.

Post by Ron Young »

I helped a new beekeeper get two five frame boxes that I had sold him into his ten frame hives this evening. I told him about the club, and the forum. Also, I was wondering if the club was planning on having a beginners class this winter. I know it is a ways off, but thought I would get the word on it now if a class has been decided. I am going to forward a link to this thread to him via e-mail, and hopefully he will be on here with questions.

Thanks
Ron

As far as I know, we will be having a beginners course starting next January. I'm in the process of seeing if I can convince all of our faculty to return for next year and lining up specific dates. Be sure and let him know that he is welcome to come to the regular meetings and to sign up and post questions here on our board.

I did, and sent him a link to this particular thread for a good intro spot.

Ron,

Thanks for the introduction. And also, thank you very much for all your guidance thus far. Both hives have been active. I have observed them every morning and evening, and the bees are coming and going very regularly. Per your advice, I have not opened the hives yet to check on the progress. It will be a week tomorrow, so I figure I will wait until Thursday before I take my first peek.

To the rest of the forum, my name is Eric. I am a first-timer so I am sure I will have PLENTY of questions. I look forward to getting to know all of you, and I look forward to this exciting and rewarding hobby!
