I got a call yesterday afternoon about a swarm of bees on the ground in a back yard. I vacuumed around 2lbs of bees. They fit very easily in a medium nuc. They were fairly agitated when I arrived to get them and I think they were about to leave or were having trouble finding a new location. By the time I got them home, they had deposited a decent amount of wax in the swarm bucket.
This morning, they were more active than my other hives as was a hive close to it. I'm not sure if the activity of the two was related--queen problems in the new swarm and moving in with the neighbors or if it was coincidence. I'll give it a few days.
