Was wondering what if any hive identification people are using out there.
I only have 2 hives so I named em Right and Left <G> but how are you multiple hivers keeping track?
Branding, ID tags, Owner Information, that sort of thing?

Most just simply give them a number. Mine being numbered 1-17.
Theft is a rare occurance around the Piedmont Triad so few would probably resort to branding. I have however heard of one occurance.
I would think theft would be almost non-existant in town since most people are afraid of bees. And we all know that everyone is allergic!
I take a black permanent marker and put a number on the outside corner of one of the hive bodies. If I were to do something more permanent I believe that branding would be the best option. You cant paint over it and you cant remove it.
