Swarm - 4/10/2019

Post by DuaneB »

Found this when I came home. So what are they doing? Are there more bees than can fit inside? They just seem to be hanging aroung.

Thanks,
Duane

Whatever they are doing, I would take them down and put them in a hive or nuc.

Hi Wally,

I looks like some of them are going in and some are coming out. Like there isn't enough room. That box is about 8 feet up that tree. Can I put a ladder next to the trap, pop the top, and look inside? Or will that irritate them?

I don't know what you CAN do, I just said what I WOULD do.
It is only going to get heavier and harder to handle as it stays there longer.

I'll be heading over in a few minutes with the bee vacuum. Suck up the hangers on, bring down the box and put them all in a hive--that's my first thought.
