Swarm 6/3/20

Post by Jacobs »

The combined hive that swarmed and went high on 5/22/20, threw a small swarm yesterday. I suspected it was going to swarm again because I kept hearing piping all the way until yesterday morning. This less than 1 medium frame of bees went to my fig bush, so they were easy to capture. I have them in a nuc and the queen is in a queen capture clip. I will release her later today.

I also had my strongest hive swarm on Wed. Happened to be at home when it happened, but instead of going to the convenient dogwood I've been spraying with swarm commander, they chose to go about 100' up in a white oak! Big swarm that rested there for just 15 min before picking up and heading south towards UNCG...
