Greensboro swarm 3/15/23

Post by reedyfork »

Once again, I came home to find a swarm congregating in my yard - this time all over the place on the side of my garage and fence. I did not see where it came from, but probably one of my hives... This one was a little unorganized, and I discovered an additional virgin in one of the separate bunches. Actually caught her in my clip, but dang if she wasn't skinny enough to crawl right out of it (I did get her back eventually)!

The main swarm went to a young friend I'm helping to mentor, and the smaller swarm with the virgin is in a 5-frame nuc for he and I to use as a resource.
