Dead pupa

Post by ski »

Its around 49-50 degrees today with a light rain now and there are bees flying. Found several dead pupa on the landing boards of both hives along with a few dead mature bees.

I am guessing that the last few nights got a little too cold for the number of bees in the hive to cover all the brood and keep it warm. What do you all think?

Last mite count was mid march with 3-4 per hive. Definitely time for another check.

I would also guess the cold nights.
