Splitting Hives??

Is it too late to try to split a few hives?? What is the best way to do it? Buy queens or let them raise their on? THanks for all the help in advance . Sorry for soooo many questions.

I would ony split the strongest of hives.
Your challenge will be to build up the bee population in the next 2 months. It is unlikely they will gain strength too much during the month of October.
Absolutely buy a queen and get them going ASAP.
I think it can be done.
Monitor closely.
