Dry sugar on top bars

Post by ski »

Took a few pictures today Jan15, 2010. It was around 60 today and the bees were flying. All 9 hives are active.
One picture is of an open feeder I put 2:1 sugar syrup in before it turned cold. The others are of dry sugar on the top bars of hives.
Seems like the bees eat the sugar before they go into capped stores.
