ON A RESENT FOX 8 NEWS BROADCAST ABOUT LOCAL BEEKEEPERS. THE LOCAL BEEKEEPER LISTED MOST OF THE DISEASES AND BUGS THAT ARE AFFECTING THE BEES TO DATE. THAT PERSON LISTED A DISEASE THAT I HAVE NOT HEARD OF BEFORE. THE DISEASE WAS CALLED “K-WING”. HAS ANY ONE HEARD ABOUT THIS? IS THERE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS?

K-wing is also known as deformed wing virus and is thought to be brought on by varroa mites.

I think I am going to differ. My understanding is that K wing is a symptom of tracheal mites. Deformed wing virus with shriveled wings is an indicator of varroa infestation, but when the wing is whole but sticking out at an angle so that the wings look like they are making a "K," that indicates the presence of tracheal mites.
