Re: Small hive beetle
Thanks for the info. Yes these hives are in the sunlight all day. I see the the beetles running when I open the inner cover. Haven't really noticed any larva but will check tomorrow. Hopefully the traps have caught a lot the last two days.

Re: Bee Tree
Well it seems that I cannot keep any bees alive in my reg hives anyway ...had a bee tree and now they have died out too . At least it seems like bees can survive some out in the trees. Still hoping things will change this spring.

Yellow worms in hive???
Yesterday I found some small yellow worms on one frame in the brood box. Can someone please tell me what these might be and what to do about them. I took the frame out and froze it.The worms are about 1/4 inch long. They are not wax worms..they are not tunneling...but do seem to be eating the comb.

Ok Wally answer this one for us. I have always used excluders but often heard that it cuts down on honey production? So, I would appreciate some insight on this question also.

I am planning on taking my supers off tomorrow (wed) but it might be a week or so before I can start extracting it. I can store the supers in my basement away from elements. Will this be ok?? Any advice is appreciated.
